The aliens are coming! (WISE=FOOLS Part III)

Executive Producer/Director André van Heerden, with Darek Isaacs, the author of the book that DRAGONS OR DINOSAURS? is loosely based on.
Just recently world famous physicist Stephen Hawking declared that mankind should stop trying to contact alien species because if they discover us the results won’t be good.
Hawking gave a lecture at George Washington University as part of NASA‘s 50th Anniversary and echoed the thoughts he aired on his Discovery Channel series: “We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet.” He went on to add: “If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the Native Americans.”
Such a declaration made Former Canadian Defence minister, and long-time cabinet member, Paul Hellyer upset because he believes aliens have contributed greatly to human technological advances. “I think he’s indulging in some pretty scary talk there that I would have hoped would not come from someone with such an established stature,” Hellyer said in an interview. “I think it’s really sad that a scientist of his repute would contribute to what I would consider more misinformation about a vast and very important subject.” Hellyer believes that aliens gave us technological advancements like fiber-optics and the microchip.
What I find fascinating about all of this is that here are two intelligent men discussing aliens as if it’s a foregone conclusion that there are such things. Despite the fact that no credible evidence of any kind has ever been shown that alien life from outer-space exists, this topic makes headline news and sparks great discussion.
When the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI) projects began in the early 1960s, it was thought that such a scientific venture should come with a scientific-looking formula, just to make sure that the venture had some reasonable chance of success. This program looked for anything out in the universe that would suggest some sort of order, or pattern. Something that indicated that it wasn’t just random, that there was some sort of intelligent force behind it.
Incredibly, the intelligent people who are making these searches are ignoring the vast amounts of organization and messages all around them. The chances of our galaxy, our solar system, our sun, our planet, our bodies, even just one living cell ever coming into existence without some sort of intelligent, creative force is beyond the mathematical definition of impossible. Yet rather than recognize an intelligent Creator God, these scientists who claim to be looking for patterns and order and higher life-forms, will just dismiss everything around them as coming from random chance.
In producing “The Faith Behind the Science”, the extra documentary for DRAGONS OR DINOSAURS?, we came across many examples of learned people preferring to believe what they preferred to be true. All this reminds me of an old saying: those who believe in nothing, will generally believe in anything.

We don’t need aliens from the outside we have them already – in the Government!

Does Hawking believe that aliens evolved separately on another planet, or does he believe they spawned us?
