Albuquerque Film Festival and F1 Diamond Shout Out

Today I met with the folks who are running the first ever Albuquerque Film Festival. My heart is always to help indie filmmakers learn their craft and at the same time hone my own.

This is how it went down: I called the Albuquerque Film Festival main number at 11pm last night and, like most creative types, the Festival Director was still up and working, as was I. He told me that he was glad I called and asked me to stop by the next day (today).

So I did. Today I gave Rich Heinrich, the Festival Director, a copy of our film SAVING GOD starring Ving Rhames and Dean McDermott. Then Brittany and I hung out with Brett Kingsbury for awhile and shared with him some ideas for marketing and publicizing the festival.

They were so encouraged by our offer to help get the word out that they provided me with some all-access passes to the festival in return.

Feeling blessed I took it to the next level. I met with Alex and Christina, who have the cutest little son, 4 year old Dante (sp?).

Alex is a musician and web designer. He is actually the one who designed the Albuquerque Film Festival website, which you can see HERE. Alex did an amazing job putting up a much-needed site, and he did it in two days!

Not only that, but a couple of Alex’s friends submitted to the festival. Their films are Neshoba (about Mississippi Burning) and Visual Acoustics (Architectural Photography of Julius Shulman). Incidentally, Alex designed Neshoba’s website.

Later, I met with Alex and Brittany and we discussed a practical plan of action to get the word out about the festival. We talked about optimizing their site and general marketing ideas. It was a good time and I think we will all be blessed in this partnership.

But the coolest thing happened. While we were meeting, F1 Diamond one of our Cloud Ten artists, called me up on Skype.

But that is not all.. while we had F1 on Skype, he decided to throw down a little freestyle… So check this out. Forgive the video quality – this is me taking a video of my computer screen.. but I had to capture it… so hope you enjoy and never mind the two guys in the bottom corner.. they really aren’t there.

F1 Diamond kicks some freestyle for ya!

So y’all stay blessed and stay tuned… much more coming your way from Cloud Ten Pictures / Cloud Ten Entertainment.
